Lisa Herrin was born and raised in Austin, Texas and graduated from Westwood High School where she served as a three-year member and two-year line officer of the SunDancers Drill Team. On SunDancers, Lisa was part of the elite Jazz Company and Hip Hop company, as well as Chaplain of the student-led group, En Croix.
Lisa continued her education at Texas Woman’s University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance. It was here where she grew her passion for dance as an expressive art form and had the opportunity to perform in multiple collegiate and professional performances, working with undergraduate, graduate, and faculty choreographers. During her time in college, Lisa also spent 2 years in Denton and Decatur teaching tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, and drill prep at Silhouette Dance Company. Growing an excitement for teaching dance, Lisa moved back home to join Cedar Ridge in 2020. Lisa currently dances and teaches with Austin Movement Collaborative and in her free time enjoys yoga, reading, crafting, and playing with her cat, Ada. Lisa is thrilled to continue her 4th year directing Nobility and teaching dance classes at Cedar Ridge. |
Mrs. Lowin is from Round Rock, Texas where she began dancing at three years old. Her dance career has consisted of training at the studio level as a member of Rise Dance Company, here at Cedar Ridge High School where she was involved in the dance department and in Royalty Leadership, and at the collegiate level where she has developed her knowledge and skill in dance. A major component of Mrs. Lowin’s dance and teaching experience has been working for Crowd Pleasers Dance, where she has grown a passion for leadership development, innovation in choreography, and making the learning experience FUN!
Mrs. Lowin obtained a B.A. Dance degree and minor in Education from Texas Tech University. During her time at Tech, she has taken on numerous leadership opportunities, studied under the Texas Tech Pom coach, Erin Alvarado, and had her choreography selected for adjudication at American College Dance Association. As part of her degree, she taught at multiple public schools in Lubbock, where her passion for education bloomed. Every time Amanda teaches, she hopes that all of her students feel empowered to achieve big goals, grow in confidence and skill, and leave feeling fired up to do it all over again. She is honored to join the Cedar Ridge family again! |
